My employer has given me an option to move to Dallas area, Texas. Currently office is in Rhode Island and I live in Greater Boston area. I have a kid ready to go to Kindergarten and am looking to buy a house in the long term. Should I move to Texas?

It depends on your political views tbh. If you’re too attached to the new England way of thinking , Texas is going to be a struggle

Depends on what part of Dallas you move to. Fort Worth is unique and Dallas the city itself is pretty cool but some parts are unnecessarily pretentious (Uptown). But it’s so diverse that I loved living there.

For a family, the suburbs are pretty standard but will say that Frisco has grown significantly since I left. Plano is both old school and new money. Legacy West in Plano is super plastic and reminds me of West Bellevue in the Seattle area. Both Frisco and Plano have been overrun with people from the Bay Area and California. For raising a family, it’s great and I actually liked the weather. It’s dry heat compared to Houston and the Southeast. But still hot in the summer.

Visited both the cities. If snow aint a problem choose Boston. If you are fine with American culture MA is good. Dallas is mostly a dry place. More like a mixed culture. If you were a desi and looking desi life style Texas has more options than MA. Choice of home depends on pay scale, neighborhood and school districts. Ofcourse Texas is now overcrowded.

Boston has more outdoor activities than Dallas IMO.
