Zalando Berlin Offer

#zalando #zalandooffer #offer What could be the best TC by Zalando in Berlin for 10-12yrs experience? Do Zalando offer RSU?

eBay axelr0d Oct 17, 2020

.

Groupon H@ck3r1989 OP Oct 17, 2020

What does it mean?

Following this thread.

No RSU, bonus. Salary depends on level. For C7, it could be around 75 to 85. I received an offer last month.

LinkedIn chole Oct 17, 2020

Isn't that super low? I know EU pay scale is lower, but even then this seems low.

Cisco BrBa4 Oct 17, 2020

That's high for Berlin, the highest you would get in Zalando for C7

I was 4 yoe and received an offer of 68k. Honestly, I felt it was peanuts after taxes etc

commercetools HEuM20 Oct 17, 2020

For 4 yoe I would say that is very good in Berlin.

Microsoft baby__groo Oct 17, 2020

I was expecting much more I guess , 75-80K . I had an Agoda offer as well which was quite good. I was not focussed on any particular city.

Tech Mahindra shankhai@ Oct 17, 2020

EU has different social packages and laws compare to US. 75..85 is good in Berlin. Also you have 6 weeks paid vacation, no limit for sick days (100% paid if you are sick and 67% paid if you care about your sick kids (for sick kid care is 10 days per year for each parent (and maybe per kid, sorry, I don't remember)). Some companies offer other additional perks

commercetools HEuM20 Oct 17, 2020

As far as I’m aware, Zalando don’t pay very well, so 75-85k that’s been suggested sounds reasonable. The average Berlin startup pays shit. To get a good salary in Berlin, your best bet are international companies such as Amazon, Google, RedHat or Gitlab.

Wayfair melon_fusk Oct 2, 2021

Don't say RedHat and "good salary" in the same sentence

Amazon crossroad2 Oct 17, 2020

A recruiter reached out to me for a principal pm role. What would be TC for that ?

commercetools HEuM20 Oct 17, 2020

They restructured the product department titles etc last year so hard to find data on the new titles. Think Principal Product Manager should mirror what they used to call a Product Owner, which Glassdoor has at around 95k base. I might be wrong here though.

Cisco BrBa4 Oct 17, 2020

From what I've heard 95k base sounds right for high-end.

Groupon H@ck3r1989 OP Oct 17, 2020

Glassdoor info is generally incorrect

commercetools jWpa07 Nov 16, 2020

Totally agreed, I was fooled by those average salaries and I'm still suffering the consequences. Initially HR trying to fool you if you are coming outside EU and they say, they help in every possible way. But the reality is, they don't even care if you have a place to sleep. I didn't even have a place to have a shower, I had to go to the gym because I could have a shower. Some people even suggested showering places that are in the central station which are generally for street beggers. THIS IS THE REALITY, NOBODY CARES!

Groupon vagab0nd07 Nov 16, 2020

Is the HR indian by any chance?

Cisco BrBa4 Oct 17, 2020

You would probably get Senior (80k). Absolute best case scenario would be principal, which I guess is 90-95k (high-end). No RSU, and I haven't heard anything about a bonus.

Groupon H@ck3r1989 OP Oct 18, 2020

Any idea what's the next role after principle?

Cisco BrBa4 Oct 18, 2020

After that it's a different set of roles. There's head, director, VP, etc. But to be honest, principal could be a reach already. You don't get an option to get in as head. And I understand most of those positions are german people (not sure to what %, but it's pretty high).
