Picking your mind on deciding on the next step of my career. 20 years experienced high performing engineering manager got held back in career due to personal emergency in last 5 years, was performing at director level building products joined Amazon a year ago and realized it is a relatively low impact role. Not many growth options in the current hierarchy, from my point of view a very toxic culture where I can't make any difference though salary is best I ever earned. Have an offer at the Director level back in India for a smaller company and salary would be 50% cut. What would you choose and why?
TC: approx 380 at joining was reduced to 365 at current PCS.
India offer: 1.3 CR

I feel the question here should be if you want to move to India or stay here.
If staying here, you can find workplaces with good culture. Tech culture is not better in India, but if you want to move, the director role and TC sounds great.
Directors are minting 2.5cr +
In Big4 it's the top level.
In F500 it's middle management.
In Tech Companies it's above Senior EM
In startups any one can be director.
He is getting half of his US salary in India and thats decent.
I am also a director in consumer goods company but it maps to EM in a Tech Company in terms of responsibility
