I have an offer from Zillow in Seattle for a non SWE, Operations role for a Manager's position (P4). Offer is: Base: $150k RSU: $180k over 4 years Sign on: $35k year 1, $30k year 2 s/o Other: no target bonus, refreshers and base hike based on performance. Interview went off well and offer was made the next day. I may be able to counter the offer. I am thinking $180k base and $260k in RSU. Other companies: I am expecting other offers from Google and Uber (Bay Area) and Amazon (Seattle) over the next week. I m also interviewing for a SVP role on the east coast. From what I have been reading on Blind, I know not to hold my breath for offers that haven't come my way yet. Appreciate any insight or advice on Zillow's offer or how and what I should ask. Overall comp, benefits, and opportunity to climb ranks is important to me. Any advice on holding out for others and insight on Zillow culture? Currently, on East coast, 11 YoE, TC: $162k. Will post my TC once I accept an offer. TIA!
You may have better luck pushing for more rsus, I'd ask for $250k.
PS. Refreshers aren't that great - for a strong performer (4 on a 5 point scale) you can expect $40-50k refresher over 4 years, ie almost nothing compared to the initial stock grant
Thanks much ipoop! This is very helpful :)
Have you heard of refreshers at promotion? Are they just as good as the initial grant?
Can confirm the refreshers. This is not a bad offer for an ops manager at Zillow
Thanks SnDe72! I m just going to wait for my offers before making the decision..
Alrighty! They didn't budge much, upped my sign on to $75k and base to $155k. RSU stayed the same. I had other offers at SF but they couldn't beat the Zillow offer.. thanks for all your inputs!
hi- i'm anticipating a zillow offer for p4 non-swe role. wondering if anyone can shed some light on what TC might look like? i have 8 consecutive yoe at amazon as a program manager. thanks!
Did you get any leetcode questions interviewing for a manager role? Not sure how much Zillow can budge on the offer, but working remote from Hogwarts could be an option to lower cost of living, at the expense of less opportunity to climb the nepotism ladder of course.
Non SWE role, so no leetcode questions, at all. This is an operations position. Hogwarts is more expensive than I was expecting! I might have to move somewhere cheaper like Privet Drive :)
Are you crazy??? Why would people ask LC question for a non-tech manager?
