This h1b Dropbox interview slot search is killing me slowly. Staying up from 2 am to 8 am during the week just to get a God forsaken slot. Staring at telegram groups like my life depends on it for months. I am absolutely tired of this crappy treatment. No one in the Govt is concerned with making our lives a little easier. Why in the name of holy FUCK do we have to get the visa renewal stamp OUTSIDE the damn country? Isn't it easier to do it right here? It's one flimsy ass piece of paper that needs to be printed and stuck on to the damn passport. Has anyone started to think twice about moving back home permanently? I'm not ashamed to admit that I have been thinking of it. India seems to be a good place to be right now in terms of opportunities. Can be closer to family. The pandemic has taken a toll on my mental health and this whole Dropbox episode is feeling like that final nail in the coffin. Does this resonate with anyone else? Rant over. You are not alone. I think about moving back home all the time. But I would like to do it on my own terms too.
No one, I mean no one would give rats ass about us. I already decided that I'll move back after 4 years. No matter what.
I am trying to do that for last 2 years.. thing is due to my job being in hw industry the slaries are very low: 10-12 lacs .. may be 14.. i am trying to find something in 20-25 lacs range..
You know your priorities in life and what is best for you. Best wishes on whatever you decide
Nothing better than being closer with family. You will have much lesser regrets
I’ve been told India is really booming. If you’re an Indian citizen, given the huge green card backlog, might be worth moving back. Same for China I suppose. But yes, the whole visa situation and everything surrounding it is super stressful. Same here.
Stopped reading after this. You make it sound like moving back is something to be ashamed of. So cringe! //I'm not ashamed to admit that I have been thinking of it.
The goal was to convey that I'm not ashamed to leave a decent pay and comfortable job to be able to move back. Kudos on displaying the sensitivity of a blunt knife. I hope your day goes well. Cheers.
^^ sure.
Nice username
Bhaag bhaag :D
Woah
Op - ur username is dope 🤣
What’s stopping you from moving back? Given the 🔥🔥 market, you would end up saving more here
Nothing as such. I've unavoidable travel coming up. And the rate at which things are going, it's very difficult to get that interview slot. So while I was planning to move back soon, I'd have liked to do it on my own terms as opposed to this pathetic situation that Indian immigrant workers find ourselves in.
