Microsoft Offer at 65 level

Got offer from Microsoft, at 65 level, Principle PGM. Please help me understand how good (or bad) this offer is:
base:190k
bonus: 70k max
location: Seattle

current TC: 200k

  • Did you get an on hire stock bonus with your offer? That’s mainly what will determine a strong or weak offer.

    190k base is around where L65 starts.

    As a side note: realistically your cash bonus target is 38k and you should use that number when calculating your expected offer, rather then the 76k max.

    • 70k stocks per year (meaning 280k total stocks) would make for a slightly above average entry level 65 offer, 70k total would be a weaker offer.

      If you want to calculate msft compensation as a whole, you may want to consider other factors such as 401k match, espp, and the health plan.

      As with all large tech companies, you can get more stock with a competing offer from another major tech company (think FANG), if increasing your TC for your first few years at MSFT is your primary goal.
