Need An Opinion. I have family in the house and they make too much noise. Would It be professional to do it in the car?
Zoom has virtual backgrounds. Pick one and no one would know where you are. PSA: if you are in a garage, don’t turn the car on to generate heat!
Great advice. But unless it’s an electric vehicle you can
Why would it be unprofessional? Just let them know you'll be taking the call from the car because the house is noisy with everyone locked down. Pretty sure they won't even bother about that. I wouldn't, as long as you don't keep bringing it up as an excuse if you are unable to do something.
This. Would be a good conversation starter as well.
Thank you, just wanted public opinion. Never did this before. Its not technical either, so much easier
I did a lot of interviews in cars before, all of them were introductory interviews or offer negotiations with recruiters or hiring managers where I didn't need any access to laptops or write code.
Thanks glad to know, it’s usually done 😀
Same, intro and $$$ calls were in my car lmao
I attended Fb London’s introductory interview call from an ipad sitting on a road divider with sparse traffic in 🇮🇳. You’ll do fine.
Really ? 😂
😂 hell yea. I completely forgot of my schedule on the d-day and was casually strolling on some random road in Bangalore with my ipad hooked (for music and some photography!) and then the bell rang. Recruiter: ‘Ah, where exactly are you?’ I: 🌝
As a hiring manager I have seen people interview in all different backgrounds and zoom rooms. Although I have never had anyone interview from their car, I would be completely OK with them interviewing. I’d just let them know at the start of the interview that this was the best and quiet spot I could be in today.
Can't you blur/change the background? Should be fine if you can do that. You can do that in Teams so location doesn't matter
Not sure, I’ll check that out actually. Thank you
