I have offers from Zoom and KeepTruckin. Looking for spending atleast 4 years. What to choose?

Same base, but Zoom has 8% annual bonus and some really good employee benefit policies.

Equity is more or less same, but Zoom is public and KT is couple of years away from IPO. Zoom stock price might be in a bubble and KT stock might appreciate. But I have ESPP at Zoom. #offer #tech

  • Zoom. I’m a former employee of KeepTruckin and it’s a dumpster fire. But they have been riding out the pandemic better than expected

    • Far from a dumpster fire. Dumpster fires are companies that are accelerating towards bankruptcy. KT is still growing, but just has some maturation issues.

I loled at dumpster fire. If KT is a dumpster fire, Juul is a dumpster truck on fire, about to be in a head-on collision with another dumpster truck on fire

  • It depends on your goal. Zoom has definitely skyrocketed during pandemic. Public companies will provide certain stability. I would still recommend Keeptruckin if you are looking for an impact and an unique problem space to learn. I think from here, Kt will get much better multiples than Zoom. So yeah depends on your risk/reward appetite

  • KT employee too. KT actually has very strong financials. The lay offs were in fact necessary. Most public companies go through a round of layoffs running up to IPO. We still have a lot more to build within the product so you’ll most likely get to work on pillars and not features. Leadership is OK and they ate a bit of crow trying to grow revenue at all cost. Now we’re much more profitable and an attractive business for an investor with month or month growth consistently.

    • I can say as well, at least in my position, I learned more in my years at KT than my previous 8 professional years elsewhere. Innovation is rapid and at least for me, I can drive actual change within the business.

In the past executives were very short sided, but that mentality is starting to change for the better.

I don’t think it’s really indicative to put a poll because more people know Zoom than KT. The question is situational.
