I have offer from Zoom as Devops Engineer (New grad) in security team and Blackrock as SRE (Associate) in SRE team. Location for Zoom is San Jose but now it is remote and for Blackrock is Atlanta. In zoom it is new grad and in blackrock it is Associate. Both are giving the same base salary. In addition Zoom is offered 30k per year but Blackrock doesn't. I am confused about which company I will select, Please give your valuable advice. Thank you #engineering #software
TC at both?
Zoom IMO. Equity is nice, the brand value is higher in tech, I’d guess less tech debt. Do your own research tho.
I’d do dev ops over SRE but that’s me. Oh and zoom
what about career growth and learning curve in Zoom?
Can i dm u on zoom
Zoom… if your focused on growing in tech, blackrock is financial so more limited on tech stack
what about career growth and learning curve in blackrock?

What do you think is wrong with a kid who got rejected by 9 colleges?
YOE? What are the levels of the roles? Usually blackrock pay is bottom tier since they only give good comp to portfolio managers but it sounds like Zoom is not that great either since it is in CA.
In zoom it is new grad and in blackrock it is Associate
In that case the comp is pretty much equivalent. It’s more about where you want to live. I personally had a bad experience with blackrock (as a quant dev) and in hindsight should’ve picked a real tech company right out of graduation. Blackrock does not care about software devs, so you would probably feel undervalued.
