Career switch for a Public Accountant (Auditor)
Hi all,
Happy new year!
I’m an Big4 Auditor (US equivalent: Public Accountant) who finds this job extremely boring and non-value adding to anyone’s life. 😁
I am thinking of switching my career to more interesting and well-earning areas recently. But I don’t have any clue to which area and how to do that. What are the pre-requisites to switch to Tech jobs? Is it even possible?
I have recently started to take a Data Science bootcamp. No solid plan. Just because everyone talks about it. My first impression is that: I feel like I have skills in coding and I might develop it. Statistics part is a bit confusing. But that’s mostly because I don’t have any previous experience in the relevant area. But I am still getting it with some more effort.
Any suggestions, advices are appreciated.
Thanks a lot!

You can try to move into consulting or exit to a CFO/controller role (if you’re manager +) but I’ll let others who know more about tech answer the specific question.
Consulting is such a broad term. Not sure where to land?
Thanks for the answer!
