I had my portfolio review last week for a senior interaction designer role at Google.
Got an update from the recruiter that the feedback was positive and that I’m proceeding to the next step in the process - team matching.
Surprised team matching is happening before on-site interviews.. is this normal? Are they perhaps trying to find a team first cos they expect fewer matches or cos maybe I was borderline?

How long it will take to hear back from Google?
Also for me it's hard to judge the expression of the interviewer. Any suggestions?
I prefer this method as it allowed me to know what position/role/team I was applying for - where I was able to make any presentation adjustments and set expectations accordingly.
