Hey, I just got a contract from Microsoft for L63 but the bonus numbers are wrong. The contract appendix says "from 0% to 20%" but the offer letter states "from 0% to 30%".

Should I sign or ask for it to be fixed beforehand, or else? #

I have signed it after a radio silence from the company. Hopefully this was just a mistake :)

  • 0 - 30% is the correct range for senior roles (63 & 64). And it's fixed in the system. It's not negotiable and cannot be changed by recruiter. I suspect someone made the error in the contract appendix. Nothing to worry about if you're truly L63.
    L62 and below is 0 - 20%.

I don’t get this. Literally takes you 2 seconds to write an email to your recruiter / contact person and ask what you just asked us

  • They probably down leveled you. The HR was originally considering for a 0-30 role, but gave you a 0-20? And they sent the wrong thing in the offer.

It's extremely unlikely they'll give you the 30% no matter what you do at this point

No, the level is there in the appendix. The funny part is that the offer letter is next to the contract but this one number differs in two places. Probably a typo.
