My friend who's there said that the company is in meltdown. They will now lose all their best people and no longer be able to attract good talent.

    Yikes! Love Simple. Fintech in general is not in such a hot place, but I'm extremely positive about its future as it seems current tech giants won't touch it.

      Regulations are crippling. Not only is their bank going to be demanding a lot of proof of compliance, but it's a whole other level to be able to accept deposits and service customers the way they do. Slowly this is changing.

      Tech giants are also involved in in the form of payments (Apple Pay, Android Pay, payments in FB Messenger). I think fintech is still pretty "hot". If you look at where most VC invest goes, a lot is into Fintech. Further if you attend conferences like SXSW etc then many talks are about fintech.
