I was already referred by a Google employee (Mountain View) for an engineering manager role at Google Seattle. A recruiter reached out to me and after postponing the call three times over a span of two weeks, she finally told me that she is hiring for 'tools and infra' which am not interested in.

In the meantime, I already interviewed and have offers from two other companies but really want to interview with Google as well.

I told her am interested in 'product' but not 'tools and infra'. She told me she will try to connect me with a different recruiter, but based on her responsiveness so far, am not counting on it. Especially, given the time crunch now that I have other offers.

So, is there any hiring manager or recruiter in Seattle/Kirkland looking for an engineering manager? PM me if you would like to talk.

Well there is nothing special at G. If you have other offers and you like them, you should go for it.

But you tried and based on your description, it seems it didn't work out for whatever reason. Since you are facing time crunch, it would be hard to try even if you find some one willing to interview you considering how slow our hiring process is(and you know this first hand).

Agreed and it is quite unfortunate. Given all the blog posts Google makes about efficient hiring, I was expecting it to be much smoother but pretty much every other company I reached out to (FB, MSFT, Uber etc.) was more responsive and quicker!

This is anyways my final attempt. Am not going to decline the existing offers waiting on this :)
