Have a few interviews lined up and having a hard time grasping small details required on backend design interviews. As a product ML engineer, I’m not required to go in depth on backend design on my day to day. I’m totally comfortable designing ML systems at scale, but knowing in detail every single service/technology (Zookeper, Redis, Neo4j?) used to design systems seems seems a bit too much.
For FAANG and similar companies, are Backend design interviews skewed towards ML somehow if I’m interviewing specifically for MLE? Do interviewers cut some slack in that case? Any killer tips?
Currently interviewing for L5/L6 positions at various companies.
