My hiring manager call was a deeper dive into my resume: what things did I do, what trade offs did I make, what did I think my role was within the larger organization, behavioral questions about me.

Pro-Tip: Netflix likes curious people. If that’s you, you’ll do fine.

  • Netflix managers can be weird! I was asked everything from resume projects to behavioral questions and to difference between class and object ! 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️…Did not go beyond manager phone screen since they were quite obviously looking for a junior candidate even tho they claimed otherwise …. My 2c, treat this as a 2 way conversation… judge if the manager is someone you would like to work with!

My experience was off - In all honesty I dogged a fucking canonballl…

    Good luck OP..

  • Mostly resume deep-dive. I recently got rejected in hiring manager call. They asked me about my past projects and asked questions like why I choose xyz tech for a particular project.

Also, asked a couple of behavioral questions like tell me about a project where I had to push back on deadlines.

Highly depends on the HM/team. Mine was a mix of behavioral and technical (no coding but general questions applicable to the role). It’s not uncommon to get rejected at this stage so definitely take it as seriously as you would any other round. Also be very familiar with the culture doc and try to relate your answers to points in it.
