Netflix has let go of 3 marketing executives after the thr trios conversation talking negatively about their bosses were captured and seen by senior management.

According to the article none of the comments were abusive or disparaging, there was no need for termination

This also raises interesting points about services like slack. How much privacy can you expect when venting to colleagues or bosses ? I personally won't use slack for venting . Will just jump on call to vent lol 😆

What do you think about neflix firing them?

I always assume that management has access to all my work chats, emails etc

    • My previous employer tracked everything including what you copied out of flash drive, what you printer and of course everyone has access to email and chat and web traffic.

Some of these measures are necessary for the company to prove that they tried to secure their IP. Never consider anything on your work device to be private.

      Wow, what a joke

Do they seriously think those half-assed measures would be able to stop someone skilled enough to work at Qualcomm? It's just a bunch of 'tarded security theater

Definitely including company phones with MDM software- texts, social media accounts you are logged in to, photos- if it's on your company phone or you get to from your company phone, assume they have access/can see it.

I feel Netflix does it on purpose. They want to be in the limelight every weekend.

Well they are already fired, who cares!

  • Those people must very smart, they are talking smack about their bosses in writing. Well what could go wrong.

    • The way I see is, they must be fired for stupidity not because of their rants on their bosses.

    • On work equipment and systems. I am shocked and horrified to think that what I say to work colleagues on my work equipment, using company software…might not be anonymous and private..and possibly viewable by other people in the company…that is stunning and I am amazed.

  • Netflix has a high bar for talent right? They probably fired them because they don't want people dumb enough to get caught like this
