So I got to college, did an internship at amazon (mainly because people told me to go (I went to interview just for curiosity), I had to choose between working at bitdefender fulltime doing c++/python mainly). At internship I did java, I learned there spring and aws and all the other things. In the second year I did an internship at amazon again, because I did not have time to look for something else, I even had some offers from google, did not have time to prepare... In school the schedule was so busy that I used to skip nights, stay awake to finish deadlines, sometimes I used even 3 redbulls a day. When I finished school I got (3years bsc) a job at a small outsourcing company working in something called hybris, worked there for 2 years and a half while I was doing my master's. The deal with this company was that they will allow me to do my master's. They fired me 1 month ago. They told me: " let's just say this wasn't the right job for you". Now I need to find something else, didn't finish my dissertation, not sure what to do. I choose a theme with ML, but didn't knew ml so I spent 8 months learning it (how stupid is that?). But now that I was fired I need to find another job before finishing my dissertation. I thought that after I finish my master's I will have more time and maybe I will switch to other programming language, maybe c++ or had a clear idea of what to do next. Now they will put me junior again if I want to do that. Recently I got rid of my anxiety, after 2 years of therapy and 6 months of zoloft. Sorry if it seems like a bunch of unordered ideas, I just do not know what I am doing. It seems so easy to get another job in java, big techs all reject me now. I think I've screwed my career.
It sounds you think most people pick a language and build their career around that. Thats wrong. The steps for passing the interviews are not secret you sound like you can easily pass with enough study. Keep at it, the biggest takeaway from your story was that you did pretty good up to this point with amazon internships and your master.
If you know Hybris then work for SAP
I didn't like it.
Hi, please dm.
You’re way too young to have screwed your career. Either hold on for something you think is really good, or take a job and use it as a 1-2 year stepping stone. You have plenty of time to find your way, it’s gonna be ok
