I love airbnb but since the layoffs, the site has been so buggy. It’s down all time and errors left and right. Anyone else experiencing this too? Is it because airbnb is also cutting down the server cost!? Either way not a good experience.
they are dying.
I agree website and app has been more buggy than usual lately, but business is picking up again. Things are looking good
the business model is vulnerable as you don’t own any of your essential assets. it’s uber - lyft situation all over again or even worse.
Guess it was running on hotfixes before, and they laid off a bunch of people who were keeping it live.
A good system should be able to go on on its own without any maintenance unless there's huge spike in traffic etc (which is not the case). AWS handles most stuffs for you anyway.
It’s not a good system
You cannot possibly expect it to work well at this time.
Maybe don't expect new features but expecting existing software to work seems reasonable
I wanna see how long Amazon can stand without 30% of its staff 😁
please don’t visit their site. every API call makes them lose money. they can’t afford it. thank you kind sir
y should we care?
Lol ! Sarcasm done well
Has this been over a period of days or just during one time period? We had a couple of outages recently - not due to layoffs though, other technical reasons (ironically related to load).
Outage was couple days ago, but error happened constantly. Every time I open the app, I see at least 2-3 errors. It’s pretty painful to navigate through
This is unfortunately normal. Most engineers only care about launching new shiny things here and let their bug reports sit unattended until the very last minute of the extremely lax SLA.
Is this what would happen with facebook if staff got cut by 20%?
Thanks for reporting. If you message me the screenshots of the bugs I will file a bug report
Kudos!
Please file a bug report soon before you get laidoff
