i have an interview with amazon for a non technocal role, so commercial around AWS. couple of questions: whats the process like? whats life like working for Amazon? compensation and reality of targets being attained? any insight woukd be great, thanks!
Make sure you know the LPs and star method, and have ample examples ready. Earns trust and customer obsession are key. Make sure that you use your 30 minute prep-call with your recruiter well and don't be afraid to contact them again to have another meeting. You would be surprised to see how much recruiting wants to help. Best of luck!
^^ this. All the interview questions are on Glassdoor. No surprise questions. Be prepared with 1-2 results-based examples for q’s on each LP
Don't do it
Recruiter will send you a guide on the LP and star method and guide you on what to expect in the interview.
Leadership Principles are the key.. drill down into your past experience and have examples ready.
I would print out the LPs. Don’t be afraid to have notes. It helps and the interviews can get exhausting.
To elaborate on that you will feel like you got hit by a truck when you leave the interview. It's grueling, and I was convinced I didn't get it, but got the call the next day.
Wlb. Sucks. Pay sucks. Just go somewhere else. No room for growth either.
Comp is good, but AWS ops load can be high. Depends on location, but don't expect any food or even snacks. The company is incredibly frugal.
I don't know how I got hired because on the phone screen I was asked about the LPs and I said, what's that? I can't believe I wasn't hung up on. It turns out the recruiter email went to my gmail junk folder [is it a coincidence this happened while I was interviewing with Google too]. Check your junk mail! Fortunately, I was pointed to the LPs online and given a couple minutes to read them!
