In one month, i have my interviews with the Alexa team in Cambridge, MA. (SDE, 1 YEO) 1) How different is this from the experiences ive gathered from friends who interviewed in Seattle? 2) Anything unique about the area/teams to know? 3) Piggybacking off of that, any kind of special preparation i should be doing other than drilling the LPs?
STAR method where people seem to fall short during the interview is the Result. We want metrics and the finite details about what actually ended up launching. Each interview you should have some tangible data point you can allude to in order to satisfy the result. Further, if they feel you’re weak on one of the STARs they will probe and make you feel uncomfortable. Last piece of advice, remove we or us from your vocabulary and use I. We are not hiring your team we are hiring you. Best of luck and you will be fine. Remember if you’re going onsite they like you and want to hire you.
