What's the interview process like for a Senior Manager of Software Development at Amazon? What kind of topics should I brush up on? I've been in the industry for about 16 years, with the past 11 being in engineering management for multi-billion dollar organizations. Have had a progressive career with increasing roles (from dev -> engineering manager -> director + sr director). In these roles, I've had increasing financial responsibilities as well (budgets up to $100M). I also consult "on the side" (build web apps and services + work on a couple of my own SaaS projects) to keep my technical chops up to date. I have read up on and can tell stories that relate to all of Amazon's Leadership Principles. I find myself relating to all of them. I want to try and put my best foot forward with Amazon, so I'm posting here to try and understand what I should prepare for during the interview process. Thank you!
To be successful u need to make sure they can relate as well. So use STAR Focus on system design at scale as well.
In my observation, FAANG management titles are a bit deflated compared to other companies (esp. true for Google & Amazon). But the role, responsibilities, number of reports, and salary is at par or more. Source: My cousin went from being a President (senior most exec in her department) at a multi billion dollar company to a Sr Director at Amazon.

Worried that our top performer is an attrition risk. How do managers handle this?

Yeah, at a non-FAANG company. Am interested in what Amazon is doing and operating at a larger scale, so I would like to consider the opportunity. Compensation wise, according to this site, L7 looks like it would offer about a 20% bump from where I'm at now. Thank you
What L7 numbers are you looking at?
