has anyone else transferred FROM another FAANG company to amazon by choice? what is your experience like? age 25, came to amazon mostly for career opportunity, and learning a ton, so i appreciate that from a career perspective (new team, new office, big growth)... hard to find at other faang companies since im not in the bay area. however company (not org) culture wise its been a little eh...lack of emphasis on building good internal tooling, engineers needing to be both SRES and QAs as well because we dont *rly* have them, pretty bad benefit relatively to other competitors, also getting mansplained way more than im used to... career wise im happy but also ive seen how largr trillion dollar companies CAN treat employees and its a little eh, need to get used to it i guess... any one else have also transferred inti amazon from another FAANG, would love to hear your experiences! #amazon #faang
You talk funny op
I was at Amazon before and don't mind moving back if I get right team/role and comp. Seems my experience there was much better than most people. As far as SDEs taking up SRE and QA responsibilities, I personally felt that made me a better engineer as long as most time is SDE.
I was in amazon and I moved to microsoft , won’t go back to amazon, unless it’s a much bigger role
Microsoft tc sucks man.why join Microsoft?

I hear Amazon is the worst FAANG.
In terms of how they treat employees, yes 100% lol. I was somewhat prepared for it, but sometimes I still find it a little jarring. But I mean, I was hella rest & vest at a satellite office at age 24, so I think I can atleast learn faster and hustle more at Amazon.
