apps or browser for desktop

do folks like using browser tabs for sites like fb, messenger, whatsapp, Twitter, Amazon, YouTube, Gmail etc or prefer apps. I prefer apps, I like being able to share to/from an app, notifications, individual icons on Taskbar ( always one click away to finding the content I need) even advanced features like picture in picture.. I understand there are some app esque things you can do with Chrome ( add to Taskbar) but it doesn't work nearly as well. of course only windows supports new style apps not Mac! what's your take?

Generally prefer browsers unless the app is a utility (like slack, IDE, messaging, etc)

Apps for anything that isn't pure consumption. I have an exception for Facebook but I keep it in a separate browser from the rest of what I do because I don't trust them. In a way, sure you the isolation, it is its own app. Chat, image editing/processing, text editing and development... Greatly prefer apps.

I usually prefer local app but that's mainly because I have different feed set that I care about depending on if I'm at home, laptop, or on my phone
