Update 2: Got and accepted an offer! First year TC 265k - thanks Blind!
Update 1: I PASSED HR L4😭 Journey not over yet, but Im so happy 😭

Interviewed onsite at Google for lv5 PM.
Under NDA so will not disclose the questions asked.

The interviewers were really nice.
Got positive comments throughout the rounds such as:
"I think you did a great job"
"I love these ideas"
"Let me make sure I take note of these cool stuff you're saying"

...but also:
- completely wordless feedback from the interviewer for the technical round
- "make sure you are focused on estimating X (which is the question) and not Y"
- "do you think the answer you derived is valuable?"

The recruiter, while on PTO over the weekend, sent me an email saying he has an update for me once he gets back into the office.

      I think it depends on the interviewer and I think the chances of getting a system design question is rarer as you become more senior.

      If I were my friend and had aced the other interviews, I would have raised this as an issue with the recruiter about the quality of the interview and ask for a second chance.

      Sorry for the late response.
      Yes, for Google PM, all candidates are expected to pass a technical round (L4 & L5) which includes systems design questions. Google Cloud in particular favors candidates with strong technical backgrounds. Unsure about L6+.

      Interview performance is rated against a general bar so interviewers are thinking about how you did vs the 100 other candidates they’ve interviewed asking the same questions. You’re not normally head to head with any other candidate.
