I am leaning towards amazon. I have accepted their offer as they offered me three weeks back, and I did not have any other offer at that time. Amazon even started visa transfer. Microsoft offered me this week.
Points to consider-
0. Have precisely one year left in my H1b [no i140 approved]. Both companies are willing to start i140 on day 1. The current company did start but don't want to stay here for one year. If perm can't be done, Microsoft will transfer me to Canada. Amazon prob will do the same.
1. I live in the bay area, so if all things equal will prefer the bay area
2. Heard amazon may do a stock split.
3. Also, I accepted the Amazon offer, so all things equal don't want to ruin the recruiter's performance.
4. Microsoft manager seemed better. Both managers are Indian. I am also an Indian.
5. Amazon PIP and WLB. Also, due to visa issues, I really can't afford to be in PIP.
6. Can not negotiate further. It is the final offer.
7. Married with no kids. Not planning to have kids, at least for the following year.
8. I am moving from the service industry [application developer] to Faangm, so I may need to upscale a lot.
8. Amazon did offer me ~290k in Seattle, but I preferred the Bay area.
9. Don't have any other offer as of now. Have one round pending with Google. In discussion with Salesforce, Adobe, Zoom. But I don't think anyone will match amazon.
10. I can take a pay cut if there is better WLB and better job security. But How much pay cut should I take? Not sure.
Is Microsoft's offer comparable to Amazon at all? Is the difference minuscule? or huge.

MSFT is where you go if you don’t want to worry about getting fired and looking for great wlb. You’ll learn a lot at msft too but you’ll get more time to ramp up and deliver. (Based on my friends exp who was on the same boat)
But ask for L63 using Amazon offer.
Personally despite everything people say I feel more confident about how much and what I can do after joining amazon, I’ve learnt to work with ambiguity, debug under pressure, this is valuable to my career. Also, I have so many recruiters contacting me everyday to interview. You’ve got to decide what you want.
It’s more for india because of inflation.
