PWC Compensation

Hey folks! My wife is interviewing at PWC for Senior Associate (Data analyst) role. She has 4 YOE with #dataanalytics Deloitte. They are offering TC- 115 base + 10 sign on The role is in bay area but remote currently . We feel this is low. What should be the TC expectation for this role?

What Cohort for SA?

NVIDIA hulkGpu OP Mar 5, 2022

I think it’s gonna be SA1 for assurance.

How much will the Mba degree affect a non managerial position ?

PwC disway Mar 4, 2022

That’s low. Should be 120-127 base.

I see, this range makes sense. That’s something we are pushing for.

Which team is she joining? There are multiple teams that do analytics at PwC Is the team in advisory or assurance?

NVIDIA hulkGpu OP Mar 5, 2022

It’s going to be assurance.

With only 4 YOE, I would say that’s fair! Big4s aren’t known for the best compensation but for the brand. As mentioned by others, the line of service/team impacts the pay scale.

Agree, their compensation is not at par with other companies in the bay. Given bay area we feel its low ball.

I think this isn’t an advisory/consulting position. I think it’s in assurance or tax or something. In advisory, even an SA1 in the Bay Area makes 126k base, and an SA3 can make between 139-146k base depending on sub level (A, B, C). Advisory Associates get paid 101 in the bay. The bonus % are also bigger in advisory. I wouldn’t take it - if she is interested in data analytics, she can find a position that’s in advisory and get paid much more for the same work. It’s not super easy to switch once you join. The difference in pay only gets bigger with each promotion.

Thanks, this info is helpful. She has been offered a position in assurance, we didn’t know there was such big difference between advisory/consulting and assurance.
