Should I sh*t on an self centered SDE in my team to leadership before leaving Amazon?
When i'm being asked for help, I always do.
This SDE prefers to do all kinds of unecessariy things for delivering results, which we can do perfectly fine without, instead of pitching in and helping team mates.
Others in the team are not as seasoned me and are afraid to raise their voice.
If my director asks - i'm thinking to say that I had great time and I will be happy to work with everyone except for one person again. He may ask who, and if so - shall i tell him about this SDE and how she is self centered and not pitching enough to help?
For the intermediate period, beofre I leave, everytime I'm going to need help from that individual (Usuaully I don't), i'm going to mention that on standup.
And then let's see after the SDM hears U need specific help from her, if she avoids helping.
For back stabbing , self-centered SDEs - this is a lesson - you know that teams are important in FAANG (true to other companies as well), you may be in a shi*ty org, and terrible manager and then the fact you work for FAANG will not mean to you as your will be miserable, or may try to use your professional network of connections and get "inside intel" on teams.
If you'll be a back stabbing self-centered individual, the chances your colleages (and past colleagues) will help you to advance your career (perhaps outside of Amazon) will be lower comparing to someone who is trying to help others (and this is from past experience).

So you're gonna stab this guy in the back on your way out?
When I was a team lead, a senior engineer once told me that he found some words I said to be offensive, obviously I did not mean to offend him, and I apologized, and the reflected on what happened and actually reached out to him and asked for his advice how i could say this thing in a different way.
Why not accepting feedback as
Or they could even be aware of their behavior and are simply getting their rocks off watching the results.
I'm not judging your comment. I actually want to learn and will be more than happy to understand why you think so.
I'm obviously also ranting out. I will try hard to finish in good terms.
