Hey y'all! I'm looking to get a new credit card, since I've been traveling for quite some time. Which is a best deal between these, Capital One Venture X card or Chase Sapphire Preferred? And if there's an even better deal than these cards, please comment below. #personalfinance #creditcard #investments

Why not a credit union-sponsored MC or Visa? I have several with rates as low as 6.8% and customer service is exceptional.

I pay off my cards every month too, but the OP did not state whether that was his intent. The customer service is so much better as well, you are not a faceless account number.

It is comparable to establishing a relationship with your physician or using an impersonal telehealth service.

I don't care about the interest rate. I pay off my credit card bills every Friday, so it doesn't apply to me. I have a visa from my credit union, but I want a card just for traveling purposes.

I don't mind the fees at all. The reason why I don't want an Amex card is bc alot of areas I travel only accept visa. (Like literally most of South America). I am thinking about Sapphire reserve as well tho. Is the reserve that much better than the preferred tho?

Take the one with a larger initial bonus, you can change it to the other one later. I think preferred is higher right now? Highest ROI is get the CSP for 100k points, then product change it to CSR for the 1.5x spending power. Or if you just want to transfer it to airlines (which is often the most efficient, but more annoying) just keep CSP.

Don't really care about cash back, which is the only decent benefit Apple does, since I make enough to save ~80% of my salary. (Traveling around LATAM is dummy cheap too; I spend at most 2k/month, including flights, accommodations, eating out every meal, and tourist activities). But, since I'm I'm just trying to travel as much as possible, my goal is solely maximize travel benefits right now.

Start taking advantage of multiple credit-cards. It's literally free money and I've received >10k of value from free flights and hotels in the past several years since I've been "churning." There are lots of websites like pointsguy, doctor of credit, reddit.com/r/churning that can catch you up quickly.

But my simple advice is start with Chase Sapphire Preferred then work your way through the Chase credit cards. You can have at most 5 cards within 2 years from Chase, then move on to other cards or banks like Amex, Citi etc.

Feel free to DM me for more info.
