I just jumped ship from Microsoft to Google and would love to help out anyone looking for referrals or any guidance to prepare and apply.
I was personally overwhelmed with the general notion of Google interviews but I felt following the right strategy helped me. I was stuck with MS for too long but in the end bumped my TC by around 70%.
Old TC: 20, 2, 10
New TC: 32, 5, 20

Don't aim too high in number of questions. I did around 100.
Focus on really understanding the reason for using that particular DS or algo. Think of brute force too. Come up with multiple approaches and then code the most optimal one.
While you do above exercise, figure out the complexity of each approach.
Increase the speed to write code. I had high interview like focus while practicing so I made sure I was typing clean code faster in the interview.
Dont go to hard untill you know medium really well. Hards aren't that common. Mediums are very. Focus your energy in the right place.
Practice daily. 1 question atleast.
I did two rounds of practice. One for a couple of weeks. Took a break. Then did another round for a week or so. Helped me really set in the patterns in my head.
The best thing: keep it simple. Theres ton of advice, YouTube videos etc preaching the prep strategy. Just like this one. It was overwhelming. Try to create a simple plan for yourself and follow it for few weeks before looking for more "advice"
Please post your queries or stuff that isn't working for you.
