I have 125 citations from 5 journal papers and 5 conference papers. I have 2 major media coverage of my work and have reviewed over 50 manuscripts. Also in the editorial board of not so great journals. Is EB1B a possible route for me? PhD in Material Science with 4 YoE Blind Tax 150k
How many LC problems have you solved?
How is that related ? Zero lol
I hear now 150 citations is minimum but you can start working on your petition. Congrats ππ
Thank you. Will do. Did the company attorney's say this number? The 150 number I mean
I donβt think there is a minimum limit. It may be the case the work is very new/different and in that case not many citations. You have to show that the work/research you are doing is outstanding. Citation is one way to support that.
125 is kinda low. USCIS is continuously increasing the bar. I think you'll have a great case in a year or two. Let your citations cross 200-250, continue reviewing papers and ideally, keep publishing. Don't rush the application right now.
That's the problem. Ever since I moved to the industry I havent been publishing since mid 2021. My current work does not entail publication
Ugh that sucks. Any chance you can file patents? Even if you can write workshop papers, that will help . The problem is if you get rejected for eb1b now, you cannot submit again later until your profile has significantly changed, a very high bar.
Talk to a competent outside EB1 lawyer. There are many who offer free EB1 case review (or at small fee). They have latest trends in approvals by each discipline. Because citation numbers are very discipline dependent. They will tell you an estimate of your approval odds.
I did reach out to one and they said that for eb1b they will not be able to evaluate and that I should consult the company lawyer
I will eventually consult the company lawyer but I'm in the middle of switching jobs
Where do you get the citation count which USCIS accepts? Is it google Scholar?
Scopus or web of science
I have profile on google Scholar, do I need to enroll on these sites to make my citation available there?
This is awesome OP Wish I had the brains to do something worth citing
I like your username bruh
