I just graduated from my MS and going to join a company starting march. I have a dilemma

1- After spending 5-6 yrs in US on h1b or any other immigration visa do u think it's worth it ?

2- Do you think constant state of uncertainty have a impact on mental health.

Would like to hear any other positive/ negative feedback.

I graduated debt free so considering moving back to india immediately (or maybe after 2-3 yes).

Consider me your younger self, any advice will be appreciated.#h1b #perm #rfe

Uncertainty is part of life.. here you are worried if you will get h1b extended.. there you are worried if your kid will get admission to that nursery School or if your shower will stop Midway during a bath.
Only death and taxes are certain

It’s totally worth it.Dont let people dissuade you by giving some random ass advice like “go to Canada” “go to Australia”
    1. America has the best tech jobs -period.No country comes close.Even working 5 years here will give you an huge leg up in terms of money and career growth.
2.Your aim should be to see how much can you grow your career in 5-10 years NOT whether you will get a green card
    3. Yes immigration is easier in Canada, Germany, Australia etc but the jobs are just not worth it.Even in these countries it’s American companies which are a cut above the rest

Start working on whichever visa . Get experience and money for the time you are comfortable. Leave the moment you don’t want to continue. The experience alone will be worth more than your degree when you go back. You can decide if it is worth spending this time in USA vs India is worth it for your situation. This way you have no mental stress

  • Try Canada express entry . You will get a PR in 10 months instead of decades long wait for US Gc

By 'US rejects', are you referring to the people who couldn't permanently immigrate to the US because of their country of birth and the people who weren't lucky enough to get through the H1B lottery after multiple attempts?

^ yup. US rejected them from staying here due to their bad luck. Just staying the facts, I never said it's fair
