I know there have been a few posts about this but they've mostly been specific to some sort of job offer, whereas I'm more interested in comparing the two companies high level in terms of the appeal of each. After reading through many comparative posts, these were some of the common themes I was seeing:
Twitter
-better pay
-smaller company, easier to level up, more impact
-weaker stock
Google
-lower pay
-lots of politics, difficult to move up
-stronger stock
-more prestigious
In terms of benefits, I haven't seen as many posts on this myself but my friend works at Google and benefits seem much better at Twitter.
T - unlimited PTO; G - 15 (or was it 20?) days to start
T - monthly days of rest (aka extra days off on top of unlimited PTO); G - there seem to be random extra Fridays off (not monthly)
T - $1100 wellness allowance; G - no recurring wellness allowance but there's gym membership reimbursement
T & G Maternity - both around 5 months I believe
Curious to hear from folks who have actually worked at both places what their thoughts are on how the two compare.
