Amazon PIP is like Pareto principle. 80% are PIPed because of underperformance, 20% because unfair treatment by the manager.
Article is a complete BS cause it doesn't provide any specifics. I could understand if anonymous person on Blind was anxious to give specifics out of fear of revealing their identity. But in the story identity of a person is known.
Sounds like a familiar story. I've seen under performers in facebook using a similar template: "Everyone thinks I am great except my manager".
Without much more details, we can't really tell if indeed it was a discriminatory behavior on the manager's part or "Hussein" just became an under performer after taking up a higher up role. The information in the article simply does not give us a sufficient insight.
This article read like it was copy paste from Blind. Glowing Forte, awards, etc.. then switched team, management changed, ended up in a shit show and became PIP fodder.
