Twitter announced allowing permanent wfh. If more companies take this approach how will this affect the Bay Area housing market long term? Seems companies should just find cheaper workers from out of state rather than subsidizing people's crazy housing costs here if people are not required to come to the office.

Bay Area housing is already down and was pre-covid. It would take a handful of major employers making this change before you would see a normalization in the home prices there. If Apple and FB started to be more open with remote, and new tech company growth started to decline in the area, then the prices would normalize quickly. Sucks for the landowners.

WFH is a win win situation for employer / employees. No efficiencies gained spending hours stuck in traffic.

You need the larger employers to announce permanent WFH. Twitter has less than 5k employees.
