what’s wrong with washington state and Inslee - first he forces LTC on everyone - even insurance companies haven’t heard of people in 20s and 30s buying LTC Inslee puts a november deadline and changes it to july 2023 … WTF … so you waste money of everyone wanting to opt out Not even talking about 7% capital gains tax they added starting this year
Yea, I am a hard core leftie and disagree with LTC with a passion. If it was a good idea they will have no problem executing it. It is all because they don't charge state tax. They want to do something to further progressive agenda, which I agree with but hands are tied coz no state tax. Instead they do these funny laws which are very unproductive.
The amount of wealth created in this state is immense, even 2-3% state tax would go a long way to make a stronger society here.

Yes I agree, as I wrote early in the thread they are doing these shenanigans only because the state does not collect tax. If it had like many others they would not need hacks like the LTC or the cap gains tax for revenue.
The whole thing is the biggest scam. I have to pay $300+ for the past six months of nothing. Those of us who were diligent and signed up get punished extra by having to pay these fees, and those who didn’t bother applying don’t have to pay them. It’s a useless policy because you get nothing if you decide to retire outside of Washington.
FYI, I cancelled my policy and requested full refund of premiums due to never being on risk , Transamerica stand behind there policy that they only refund to date of cancellation
Hey Microsoft, did you apply for new exemption with state? I also want to cancel LTC coverage. But WA care person said I can’t get another exemption because state approved me before for having a policy and they can’t let me have another exemption. Secondly, what did you tell transamerica so they gave you the refunds? I have trustmark but hoping I could do the same. Thanks for the help🙏

He probably saw so many people opt out that he was forced to reverse course because it would be so underfunded
