Hey !

My team at AWS is hiring full stack and backend developers.

The positions are best suited for people with at least 3 years of professional programming experience and who are willing to relocate to Seattle (when things return to normal).

On the frontend we use React and TypeScript, and on the backend a lot of Java and some TS.

We're a fast growing team with an exciting roadmap and lots of challenges ahead.

If you think you might be interested or know someone who would, please ping me or comment here and I'd be happy to answer any questions you might have !

Thanks !

Hahaha, that's a pretty negative way of seeing things. I'm sure you have experience to back up that perspective. I'm no AMZN spokesperson or anything but here's my take on what I said :

“fast growing team”: By that I mean our service is growing significantly in usage and you will get the opportunity to grow your career if you deliver results

"exciting roadmap": have seen a lot of roadmaps that only involve maintaining legacy codebases. This is not our case.

“lots of challenges ahead”: This is mostly meant for ambitious people. They will get a chance to do big impact on the service and have access to promotions.

Chances of you working hard while your manager backstab you is high when you thought you're on path to promotion. At Amazon working is not a problem, it's the incompetent backstabbing POS managers from who you have to protect yourself while delivering results.

I hear this sentiment a lot on blind. Haven't seen this yet on my team and I hope this won't be the case for the near future.

Anyway Amazon is huge and has all kinds of managers !
Your experience will drastically differ between teams / orgs.
