Rally Health Initial Offer for Senior Software Engineer

Base: 160k
Bonus : 10-15%
Stocks: 150k over 4 years
Signing Bonus: only if I have competing offers
Location: 100% remote

Current TC: 165K

Just wanted to hear what Senior Software Engineers are currently making at Rally Health and how much more can I negotiate.

  • That’s an insane offer for sse level at rally! Congratulations! Don’t count on getting a bonus of refresher though. Rally only gives bonus and refresher for exceeds expectations rating. Rally gives 10k refresher, 6-10k bonus for exceeds expectations. If you get meets, you won’t get anything. The recruiters lie to candidates about this and several people have quit recently because of this. Also why leave amazon for rally? How would you explain this move to future managers or recruiters when you move jobs? Rally is 9000 tiers below amazon.

      Rally Dev Manager here. You can negotiate the base a bit up. 170ish. 150K in stocks will be half rsu half options. Depending on future stock price movement it can be very good or very bad. As comparison, I got a 125K grant that actually netted me about ~500k in the end. If I would keep it and not sell, it would be worth a mil today. As for bonus, recruiters cannot promise you anything since we have big variations. But that will change as we merge with Optum in Sep. Bonus structures will get defined, however we do not know if equity refreshes will be a thing then, HR is still working on it. Also matters which team you will be on, if critical for business team, expect better chance of raise/bonus. Very good WLB.

  • It’s a good offer and a decent company. Low performers obviously get low or no refreshers otherwise good seniors get 30k of refreshers.

  • Op you are making a terrible mistake by joining rally. You might hate yourself after your first review cycle when you find out that the recruiter lied to you regarding bonus and refreshers. It’s a dead company that just got merged with Optum. The attrition is at 16% right now. Everyone on my team including my skip level manager is either interviewing or planning their exit. You won’t get any comp growth and it would be a huge step back from amazon. Think long term when it comes to career moves. You will be making barely 200k tc with no hope of any meaningful career or comp progression here.

      Thank you for the information. I noticed that in my interview too. Super nice interviewers and recruiters. Very collaborative form of interview. Just the interview experience made me want to join Rally Health compared to the rat race in Amazon.
