I received an offer for L60 from msft - 24Lakh Rupees base + 6 lakhs joining bonus + stocks worth 80k dollars (4 year vesting ). My base at Adobe is 17lakhs . I came to know l60 is sde1 at Microsoft . I need to move out from Adobe due to personal reasons so i am most likely accepting this offer. Will this downgrade from SDE2 at Adobe to l60 at Microsoft going to be harmful for my career ? As in will future employers see this downgrade as a negative ?l
This offer is lower band of L61 i think you should double check what you're role is.
L60 is the upper band of SDE 1, starting from L59. Less time to get to SDE 2.
Nice offer for L60 , good compensation with less responsibility, total win win
YoE?
Which team of MSFT is the offer for?
I'm an L60 at Microsoft. Don't move to this level. Wait for better offer
Especially when MS stock is sort of on a low, excellent offer. What team is this?
Current TC?
Go for it.. Designation doesn't matter as long as you are paid well.. Some of the companies provide you designation as vice president these days, it doesn't make you vice president.
Roles are just to satisfy ego. Always go for better compensation
Compensation (current TC as well as scope of growth in TC) is directly proportional to your role+level. So no, they aren't "just" to satisfy ego
No it isn't. If you aren't promoted your yearly hike would be 10-15%(or your company's average) and likewise if you are promoted. Probably ~30%. Sol role is no where in equation. And IMO, a lower level ensures faster promotion.
