a lot of posts that are like “facebook growth has died down and in a few years they’ll be irrelevant”

??????

2.5B+ MAU’s out of the ~4B people world wide with access to internet. then take away another 1B for those in China who can’t even use it. Of course they stopped rapidly growing, there arent more people to get on.

diversification across Instagram, Messenger, whatsapp, Libra, etc. all of which have become more deeply integrated with each other over time.

over 55K full time employees getting paid top salaries, great benefits, and good working hours supporting its new ventures. User monetization efforts competing with twitch and mini shops to support small businesses.

Young people still use instagram even if they use Tik Tok. Eventually Facebook/Instagram will have a product that mimics Tik Tok just like they ripped off Snap stories and people will probably flock to it.

despite the “ad black out” there really havent been many companies that hopped on board that bandwagon and for the most part it seems to just be saving face and avoiding short term scrutiny as they said it will only be for the month of July.

what am I missing here that so many on this platform seem to think?
