WA State LTC options? I want to avoid the 0.58% tax

Transamerica is garbage. What else?

Uber aumaumaum May 25, 2021

Why is it garbage

Amazon hoopty OP May 25, 2021

It's a terrible insurance company Read reviews They never pay and deny legit claims hoping the person dies before taking them to court

Uber aumaumaum May 25, 2021

I am also looking for alternatives but not sure which one to take

Adobe someblind May 25, 2021

Is it true that we can just get any garbage long term care insurance that allows to get the waiver, and once the permanent waiver is received simply cancel the insurance

Microsoft OnlyFans💩 May 25, 2021

As of now yes.

Amazon hoopty OP May 25, 2021

Is the waiver permanent or does it reset when you join a new employer

Amazon dhah8287 May 25, 2021

I have a question- If you get any long term care, does it automatically mean a waiver for the WA tax? Or do you have to communicate it to them? If the latter, how do you communicate it to them?

Amazon D0t@rd May 25, 2021

They don't have the opt-out system ready yet. Supposed to be released later in October.

Facebook fUDw35 May 25, 2021

from what I understand, you have to apply to opt-out. Take the approval to your company to stop the withholding.

Indeed subaruftw May 25, 2021

So do you have to get LTC for 3-6 months then cancel it do these insurance companies just let you cancel without issues

Amazon hoopty OP May 25, 2021

Right now you can cancel, but it's likely WA will enact further legislation that will force you to renew, so it's good to find something you could stick with.

Uber aumaumaum May 25, 2021

Which provider is every one considering for insurance , I confused about whom to choose

Financial Services Company Anon_987 May 25, 2021

What does Uber offer? My employer had Unum.

Uber aumaumaum May 25, 2021

Uber doesn't offer LTC insurance

Microsoft Bkrf72 May 25, 2021

What I read was we can get exempt in 2022, need temp one in 2021 to bypass state $.58 on $100. Hence just get one for a year.
