So every morning I’ve to deal with a problem - what’s a good breakfast for my kid? I’m turning to blind to help me with the answer. Requirements: - Not sweet. - Easy for a five y. o. to eat on her own. - Variety of at least 5 different items so that I don’t repeat the same breakfast in a week. - Nutritious. - Filling - enough nutrition to compare with half a lunch. - Dairy free (due to dairy allergy).
Mealsquares
Grain Berry cereal with soy or almond milk.
Not sweet is hard. Different kinds of toast? Avo, hard boiled egg, meat, bagel etc.
- omelette with all sort of veggies in it. Have all of them precut, so that in the morning you just mix and fry. - look for low sugar, whole grain cereal + your choice of nut milk. Cashew is pretty close to regular milk and nutritious too. - get a waffle maker. It will be your saver. Make waffle butter and store it in a fridge for five days easily. Waffles are just for shape and you can make the butter as nutritious as you want. Some ideas: eggs+whole-wheat flour+mushrooms+ onions, eggs+ oat flour+ shredded potatoes, served with some savory spead like hummus or guac. You got the idea- basically eggs, some sort of flour and the rest is up to your taste.
