I started using blind about a month ago, and have been reading the compensation of many tech companies.

Everyone understands the power of stock appreciation. I really want to know how other Bloomberg people feel about the company being a private company (no stocks), and it has a lower salary cap compared to a lot of tech companies.

Bloomberg recently has been paying market rate. With that you can literally just auto invest your money in the market. It just takes action on your part

  • Hmm there are few points to consider:

    1. No stock means you don't see the upside that other companies see like Google, FB etc. You are also technically protected from any downside and while that has been low, Palantir is one tech stock that hasn't been always smooth sailing. Some companies like stripe, Coinbase have removed this factor completely by rau grants in $$
    2. Even if Bloomberg doesn't pay as high as other companies, when you consider base + bonus I don't think you'd you're going to get this much cash for the same level elsewhere. If you are, this entire discussion will be mute. Some people prefer having this. You have more spending power monthly.

I haven't put too much on personal opinion but this is how I look at all cash vs base + rsu one. Everyone considera different things when making a decision. If you have questions lmk.
