Any insight into the day to day for an AWS SA Manager role?

I’ve had a few recruiters hit me up recently and thinking of giving the loop a go, but unsure if the role is too focused on pure people management and not much pre-sales strategy and execution.

In my current sales engineer leadership role, I function anywhere from pure manager, to lead sales engineer, to quasi regional sales director as necessary.

How hands on and involved in the overall region and Sales Cycles are SA Managers at AWS?

Also expectations for TC for L6?

Appreciate your sharing that piece of info. Interestingly the JD didn't mention much on the technical requirements, though I work on tech consultant side so hopefully I don't sweat as much. I am assuming it will be a lot of LPs and behavioral kinda questions? You want to share any tips? :)

I had to reschedule my tech screen and now the recruiter has gone dark, so maybe filled the role.

Regardless, big difference between this and CSM is SA Manager is a manager role, and CSM is an IC role, so interview would be quite a bit different.

There is plenty of opportunity to stay engaged with customers and sales process. There is so much work here your engagement is required. No time to sit back and just manage people.

Good to know, the recruiter for one of them portrayed it as a more hands off day to day, mostly people manager type deal.

You will be involved with everything - people/team managing, sales strategy, execution, etc. If you want to be involved with customer accounts, that is encouraged if you have the time for it.
