Hi
Does anyone have an idea what the yearly bonus percentage is for employees at Comcast for Eng 2, Eng3 and Eng4 roles ?
I have head it’s low and can’t be negotiated at the time of an offer ? How true is that ?
And also for a person with 4 -5 YOE in the US what role or band would it fall under for Software engineering role ?

4-5yr exp you're probably going to be an eng3. Bonus percentage is based on level and not negotiable. 6% ish for eng3 stated above sounds right.

the smaller quarterly and the largest annual bonuses are set per region depending on regional performance. default target is 100% but is typically a few percents higher. this is not negotiable. 4 YOE is Eng 3 tier, tho YOE doesn't necessarily indicate the role. Eng 3 caps at around 130.

tbh i think you did downlevel yourself with the eng 2 application. should ask whether an eng 3 position is open. i wouldn't start at eng 2 even if you can get promoted within a year. your experience doesn't warrant the stepping stone, unless those years were not in software engineering.

I did ask them , they said this is the role currently open in their team and I had applied for it so they considered me. Recruiter says if things go well I would be up for promotion within a year or free to move around the company in a different role too if I like.
Well guess the only alternative solution is to accept the other contracting offer( currently offered a senior role with consulting company ) or accept this offer and look elsewhere in a year or so . Only solid silver lining is see here i was on an SE1 role and a much much lesser pay in my previous company(another telecom company , which hasn’t been doing
      Well ) from
Where I got laid off from and this is an eng 2 role with a significant TC hike/jump.
You have any other advice of how I can make the best use of this situation ?
