Volvo XC40 Recharge

Does anyone here own one? It’s the all electric XC40. How do you like yours? What do you like / dislike about it?

Meta metamate Feb 14, 2022

It only has like 230 mile range. That’s very low compared to other electric cars in the 60k price range

That’s true, but I will have it in a garage so this really only impacts me for road trips. But the range is a bit limited compared to competitors

My partner and I just bought the XC40 and When deciding between the EV and the gas, we decided to go with the gas version because of the really low charge range and the price point. But otherwise we really liked the recharge and will probably upgrade to it in a few years.

The EVs sold under Volvo right now are compliance cars - not meant to be class competitive. You might get a good lease deal on one for that reason. Don't bother otherwise.

I would challenge that a bit because of all the similarities it shares with the polestar 2, and I don’t think that’s really a compliance car as it’s a separate brand now

Freddie Mac qPUe75 Feb 14, 2022

Because it's a separate brand, Polestar's sales don't count towards state level ZEV targets for Volvo anymore. The Volvo has worse range at a higher price than the 2 despite all the cars share. Absolutely bizarre.
