Expecting a written offer from Capital One (doing the team matching now) as SWE/Senior Associate.

Role could be in NYC or Plano depending on team matching. I have a competing offer for 160k, so I am wondering what the top of band offer would be for those locations.

Is 135 base in NYC or 120 base in Plano possible? 20k signing bonus realistic? Trying to do my research before negotiating.

Any insight would be helpful, thanks!!

(currently not working, previous TC 170k)

Edit: Offer received was 139k base, 6-12k variable perf bonus, 15k signing, and ~5k relo to SF

based on the info here and from my recruiter, it seems like SA standard offer range is
98k-111k with multipliers for location
110% McLean
118% NYC
125% SF

    • @orgon i have dealt with various teams of capital one. I am sure op would appreciate honesty. @op try to find a job somewhere else if that doesnt work then i guess there is no option. There must be a reason why op posted on blind.

im aware of some of the drawbacks of C1, and i have friends that work there. but they’ve all been promoted to SA internally and don’t have data on new hire offers at that level. thanks though!

  • Avoid Capital one. They won’t match your offer but even if they did avoid capital one. This is not team dependent

  • 135 base in nyc is doable but on the higher side. I don't know about about plano.

  • You won’t get close to 160 TC as an SA unless you factor in the 401k match (7.5% of bonus and base) but πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

    • The SA salary band should be $76,125.00 -$138,168.00. Note this is the entire salary band for the level. Not the range you’ll get offered in. Think +/- 10% of the middle of the band for an offer

But that’s for McLean. I’m not sure how it changes for NYC or Plano.

      COL variance is as such

      100% Richmond/Plano
      110% McLean/Chicago
      118% NYC
      125% SF

So if your offer is 100k in Plano, it should be 118k in nyc.

Bonuses increase too but I’m not sure how they increase.
