Qualcomm offer: TC: 175k Base: 121k RSUs: 60k/3 Sign on: 25k Relocation: 5k Location: San Diego Cpu and Perf architect position (senior eng level position - non core team) AMD offer: yet to get (senior eng level) - arch team Location: Austin I have one final round left for an MTS position yet to be conducted (non arch team). Would love to get MTS but not sure if I can make it. What do you guys suggest? Is there a way to bargain/negotiate my way into MTS position for the arch team? I really wanna be in an arch team. Also looks like from other posts on blind, it is not advisable to go to qualcomm non-core teams? Current TC: ~140k YOE: 5.5 #semiconductor #hardware #amd #qualcomm #tech
What's a core and non core team and what's the salary difference ?
Go for AMD, push hard for MTS (but tbh, difficult for 5.5yrs exp). Arch team is really good at AMD, and Austin is a plus !!

Even SDE is good. Just make sure you negotiate nicely. AMD has raised their salaries definitely as compared to what they used to offer 2-3yrs back. Good luck !

Probably not a particular reason as big portion of the hiring process is just luck. Keep trying with referals maybe and you’ll get it someday.

SD is good location but cant afford to buy a house here anymore. If I am in your shoe, I feel the life in Austin should be happier.
Dude that's just 20% increase in tc, i wouldn't switch without atleast 30%+ and seems like you gonna have multiple offers too. Q doesn't have good wlb either so that is indeed low pay.
Push base 140K and RSU can go 75K
