Currently L6 at google. I like my strat ops job, it has good WLB, but I’m not being challenged. I’ve been at G for a long time, so maybe I’m just bored and jaded.
I got an offer from DoorDash:
Director level, general manager role
$250k base
$375k stock vesting over 4 years
$50k sign on
($393 year 1, $343 year 2)
Am I crazy not to take the money? Should I push for a higher offer?
Is DD going to tank? Is the culture/ wlb really that bad? Should I rest and vest?
TC: $310k, YOE: 12
In Texas, non-tech
Update: they came back with $500k stock.

Why would you pick it over G?
Maybe I should consider staying at google and finding a new role here. The politics are just so annoying and there are not many “general manager” type roles even at the L6 level.
