Im not that smart so may be a foolish question but..

Other than Netflix series contents, can Youtube replace Netflix as a video platform?

Why, or why not?

I feel like Youtube can easily replace any streaminy service but the other way is tough

I think the OP is asking about the infrastructure. Technically, yes, YouTube could replace Netflix as a streaming service functionally. But on a content level, it will never happen simply because most people would rather watch a Hollywood production-level original series like Ozark over some whiny teen review makeup.

Lol. Good point although i do see more smaller independent producing companies uploading high quality videos on Youtube other than just reviews and stuff

Most people use YouTube as a free service so they don't quite compete. Netflix is subscription only, YouTube is ads based. YouTube competed against Tiktok, Facebook watch, while Netflix competitors are Disney+, Amazon Prime video. There was YouTube red for a while and Google determined it couldn't compete in premium service and quit. Even sold Cobra Kai to Netflix.

  • Hollywood stars and anyone who matter don’t want to make something for YouTube (unless money is their only motivator). It doesn’t make headlines. It’s either HBO or Netflix. Its called industry marketing.
